Socialism - Explicitly anti-Rights, anti-Freedom, and   Explicitly Violent

So do you think you could do a better job of running a Socialist government?
Visit     So You Want Socialism?     and see if you are up to it...

What draws you to Socialism?
Better read   Who Gets To Decide?   before you go much further.

When you say "Socialism",
think Tyranny.

Socialism is about control.  Socialism is about an authoritarian autocracy telling you, your family, your friends, and everyone else what to do.  Socialism is just another word for tyranny.

"For your own good" implies somebody else is better able to run your life than you.  No matter how it starts out, it inevitably spirals down into ever-greater oppression.

Socialism is not about doing what is right.  It is about being in power.  It is about controlling other people.  Nothing more.

Socialism is about turning over your freedom to the people in the government – people who are no different than you.  Is that really what you want to do?

There is no right way.

Miami mayor speaks out against socialism:  ‘driving poverty, immigration’

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez is fired up over the latest migrant surge along America’s southern borders, arguing part of the influx problem stems from a recent rise of socialism.

"The United States has ignored the rise of socialism for decades in our hemisphere. Cuba, its number one export is its ideology.  And what we've seen them do throughout the last 50 years or 60 years since Castro has been in power, is spread this ideology to Venezuela, Nicaragua."  Cuba, which lies just 90 miles south of Florida’s shoreline, has long been controlled by dictator Fidel Castro’s communist and socialist tyranny.  "Castro’s socialist regime made the government the dominant force in society from cradle to grave.  Those socialist changes, which included nationalizing private property, caused widespread misery."

Suarez warned that other South American countries are experiencing a socialist uprising, which he argued plays a role in the recent wave of migrants into the U.S.  "You have situations in Argentina, in Chile, recently with the election in Brazil, in Colombia, Peru is up in the air."

The number of migrant encounters at the southern border in December surpassed 250,000 in December alone, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) confirmed last Friday.

"You have a massive shift which creates a tremendous amount of poverty in the region, which creates immigration pressure.  So no one is articulating the fact that increasing socialism in our hemisphere is driving poverty, which is driving immigration."

"I think sometimes we under-appreciate what we have here in our country."

California accuses oil industry of price gouging, Valero hits back

Valero hit back at California’s Energy Commission (CEC) last week after the agency demanded oil refinery executives explain why, despite declining crude oil prices, gas prices have spiked.  CEC Chair David Hochschild accused the executives of not providing an "adequate and transparent" explanation for the price spike.

In response, Valero’s Vice President State Government Affairs, Scott N. Folwarkow, denied any allegations of "price conspiracies" among oil refineries, pointing to a federal judge having thrown out another case finding no basis for them.

graphic not found Instead, Folwarkow said market price was driven by supply and demand, coupled with "government-imposed costs and specifications."  He said the higher prices in California than in the rest of the U.S. had to do with the state being the "most expensive operative environment in the country and (being) a very hostile regulatory environment for refining."

"California policy markers have knowingly adopted policies with the expressed intent of eliminating the refinery sector.  California requires refiners to pay very high carbon cap and trade fees and burdened gasoline with cost of the law carbon fuel standards."  The state’s policies have made it difficult to increase refining capacity and have prevented supply projects to lower operating costs of refineries.

"Adding further costs, in the form of new taxes or regulatory constraints, will only further strain the fuel market and adversely impact refiners and ultimately those costs will pass to California consumers."

graphic not found While gas prices have recovered somewhat nationwide, they have continued to spike in California, hitting an average of $6.39 per gallon on Friday — $2.58 higher than the national average.  California has the second-highest gas tax in the country and other environmental rules that increase the cost of fuel in the nation's most populous state.

As Valero’s letter was made public Friday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said he will call a special session of the state Legislature in December to pass a new tax on oil company profits to punish them for what he called "rank price gouging."

Venezuela Downsizes the Bolivar.  Don’t Tell Bernie

Venezuela’s socialist government has announced that it is devaluing its currency by one million times.

Venezuela on Friday launched its second monetary overhaul in three years by cutting six zeros from the bolivar currency in response to hyperinflation, simplifying accounting but doing little to ease the South American nation’s economic crisis.

Venezuela’s year-on-year inflation is 1,743%, according to the Venezuelan Finance Observatory. The country's minimum wage is barely USD$2.50 per month.  How much for that pack of cigarettes?  Forty-seven billion bolivars.

President Nicolas Maduro’s government in 2018 removed five zeros from the currency due to high prices.  That came a decade after the late President Hugo Chavez subtracted three zeros from the bolivar with the promise of single-digit inflation, which was not achieved.

The widespread adoption of the U.S. dollar for commercial transactions in Venezuela will further dilute the relevance of the new scheme.  Bolivars in cash in Venezuela are rarely used for routine purchases.

“The economic imbalances in the country are very acute and the zeros that are being removed today will soon return,” said economist Jose Manuel Puente.

The Democrats’ current multi-trillion dollar spending binge will not, by itself, produce hyperinflation like that which has devastated Venezuela and other countries through history. But it is certainly a step in that direction.  It is shocking that much of the Democratic Party wants to bring poverty, chaos and ultimately Chavez/Maduro style dictatorship to the United States.

In macroeconomic terms, socialism is hopeless.

"Communism is a failed ideology"

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki acknowledged Thursday that “Communism is a failed ideology” and that the “authoritarian Communist regime has repressed its people and has failed the people of Cuba.”

The same problem that makes communism a failed ideology is true of every Marxist ideology - fascism, socialism, or any other.  Marxism itself is inherently flawed.

Why you can't find everything you want at grocery stores

Grocery-store chains are still battling supply challenges that some executives said are as bad as what they saw in spring 2020, when hoarding left holes in stocks of some staples.

Industry executives say new problems are arising weekly, driven by shortages of labor and raw materials. Groceries remain scarce as some food companies anticipate disruptions lasting into 2022. A wider range of products is running short and logistical challenges are compounding for many retailers.

Supermarkets are sometimes receiving as little as 40% of what they order.  Many grocery chains said that it is hard to predict how complete or on-time their deliveries will be due to limited guidance from suppliers.  Executives say there is often little recourse when trucks show up with a fraction of what was ordered.

Food manufacturers now are confronting new problems.  Resin, aluminum and other raw materials used for packaging are running short, and many producers are giving priority to their most popular items.

Industry executives said manufacturers are unable to produce enough items to meet demand, with many employees staying home because of the coronavirus or because they have received rounds of stimulus checks.

Welcome to the the problem with Socialism.  The easier it is for people to be lazy and avoid work, the more people will decide to be lazy, and productivity suffers.

The more taxes are increased to pay for Socialism, the more people decide that working harder just to pay more taxes is foolish effort wasted, and productivity suffers even further.

Meanwhile, politicians who enjoy power for its own sake promise more Socialism as the solution to all problems.  Socialism is a destructive spiral doomed to failure and that culture is doomed to destruction from the beginning.

AOC silent as DSA appears to back Cuba's communist regime over protesters

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and three other House Democrats affiliated with the far-left Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) have so far remained silent while the DSA appears to back Cuba's communist regime against protesters demanding freedom.

Ocasio-Cortez, Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, New York Rep. Jamaal Bowman and Missouri Rep. Cori Bush make up the four DSA members in Congress. All four members have yet to speak out about the ongoing protests in Cuba.

The DSA International Committee on Monday declared its solidarity with the "Revolution" – the term used by the communist regime – "in this moment of unrest."

Cubans protest against Communism – Cuban president urges revolutionaries to counter

Thousands of Cubans took to the streets in Havana to lash out at the worsening conditions in the country under the communist regime — the biggest protest in decades.

"The order to fight has been given - into the street, revolutionaries!"

Cuba is going through its worst economic crisis in decades, along with a resurgence of coronavirus cases, as it suffers the consequences of U.S. sanctions imposed by the Trump administration.  The country also reported 7,000 daily COVID-19 infections on Sunday and 47 deaths.

Sen. Ted Cruz, the son of a Cuban immigrant, took to Twitter on Sunday in support of the thousands of protesters.  Cruz reposted a video that claimed to show dozens in front of the Communist Party Headquarters and said the current regime will be "consigned to the dustbin of history."

Nikki Haley dubs 2020 'the year socialism went mainstream'

Socialism became more accepted in 2020 and is on its way to becoming the default economic policy for Democratic politicians, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley warned.

Calling socialism a "dangerous ideology" the former governor of South Carolina noted it "has failed everywhere it has been tried & ruined countless lives."

Worse, she also wrote, "it is on its way to becoming the default economic policy of the Democratic Party. This terrifying trend threatens the future of every American."

"The left believes that government knows best. If the past year has taught us anything, it’s that when govt dictates how the economy is run, Americans suffer. With the Biden admin set to take power, now is the time to renew the fight for capitalism."

American Marxists Set the Stage for World Fascism

Marxism in American Politics – Philosophically, there isn’t really an American variant of Marxism.  But its Americanized instantiation is now the most powerful culture-affecting force in the world today, setting the stage for a new world order.

“Marxism,” “Communism,” and even “Socialism” have all been unmentionable words in America among the political establishment until recently;  Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) do now call themselves “democratic socialists” — that honesty has twice cost Sanders the Democratic Party’s nomination

Fascism is condemned by all major political parties in the West; however, it’s practiced subtly by all of them, but in vastly varying degrees.  And the so called “center-left” parties in the West globally are continually embracing more of it.

Jessica Scarane is a 35-year-old Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) member running for Senate in Delaware against Democratic incumbent Chris Coons in 2020.  Scarane is running on a platform that includes Medicare for All, Housing for All, a Green New Deal, criminal justice reform, and strengthening the labor movement.  She has been endorsed by Rep. John Kowalko (D-DE), and several minor parties including the Brand New Congress (the same party that facilitated AOC’s upset win, and backed Rashida Tlaib and many others into Congress.

"Are you a party that’s in competition with the Democratic Party for votes and support?"  No, we are not a separate party.  Like our friends and allies in the feminist, labor, civil rights, religious, and community organizing movements, many of us have been active in the Democratic Party.  We work with those movements to strengthen the party’s left wing.

Regulation against “hate speech” and “fake news” is a leftist ploy against free speech.

Socialism vs. the Business Jet

"A guy looked at my airplane the other day and said I wonder how many people I could have fed for the price of that airplane..."

I replied, "I am not sure, it fed a lot of families at the Dassault factory where it was built.  I’m sure it fed a bunch of families that rolled the aluminum at the Alcoa factory.  It surely fed a lot of people at the Honeywell factory where the experts built the turbines.  It fed a whole company for a few weeks when I had them build me a new interior.  It feeds the families of the linemen that fuel it.

"That’s the difference between capitalism and a welfare mentality. When you buy something, you put money in people's pockets, and give them dignity for their skills.

"When you give someone something for nothing, you rob them of their dignity and self-worth.

"Capitalism is freely giving your money in exchange for something of value.

"Socialism is taking your money against your will and shoving something down your throat that you never asked for."

It goes further.  The owner did not go on to mention that the jet is a tool which enables him to stay competitive in his own business.  Timely interaction with his customers is crucial to being competitive and obtaining the sales contracts which will mean payments and ongoing operations to his company.  That in turn means that, because of that business jet, all his employees stay employed.  In any business, the cost of tools like an airplane must continually be justified, by generating more revenue and income than is consumed by their cost - they must create profit.

With socialism, you have to endlessly continue to give people the food and other things they need to survive.  They live in grinding poverty, and the money you take from others to feed them grinds those others down into poverty, resulting in general economic decline, until everything is gone and life is reduced to savagery.

Of course, Socialists do not believe in profit.  That is why socialism always and inevitably fails.  Profit is necessary to human survival.

Without a business jet, profitability would be more difficult to achieve and maintain. : Business jets are signs of prosperity.

Last Rites for Venezuela’s State-Owned Oil Company

Socialist mismanagement is killing Venezuela's national oil company.

Venezuela has the largest proven crude-oil reserves in the world. At 303.81 billion barrels, they are larger even than Saudi Arabia’s, which stand at 258.6 billion barrels.  But Venezuela is in the throes of an unprecedented economic collapse.  Oil is Venezuela’s lifeblood, but it is being mismanaged by Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), the country’s state-owned oil company.

Faced with dwindling revenue from PDVSA, the government has relied on its central bank to finance public expenditures.  To satisfy these demands, the Banco Central de Venezuela has turned on the printing presses, and, as night follows day, hyperinflation has reared its ugly head again.

In total, there have only been 62 episodes of hyperinflation in history.  Venezuela, along with Lebanon, is one of only two countries currently experiencing hyperinflation.  Today, Venezuela’s annual inflation rate is 2,275 percent per year, the highest in the world.

Under the direction of Luis Giusti in the 1994–98 period, PDVSA’s production soared.  This trend changed in 1999, when Hugo Chavez became Venezuela’s president and introduced Chavismo as the country’s guiding economic doctrine.  Venezuela’s oil output began to stagnate, a situation that worsened further after the coup attempt of April 2002.  Chavez responded with mass purges of PDVSA’s employees, replacing them with "reliable" hands - those loyal to Chavez’s socialist regime.

If all that isn’t bad enough, equipment breakdowns and increased accident rates have contributed further to long downtimes and output declines.  As of October 1, 2020, PDVSA had reported 42 accidents and incidents since 2003, costing the SOE approximately 580 days of production.  Because many of PDVSA’s blunders go unreported, and many of the mismanagement incidents (such as the sinking of the natural gas exploration rig “Aban Pearl”) cannot be quantified in terms of days lost, the true number of days in which PDVSA’s production has been hampered due to mismanagement is undoubtedly much higher than reported figures.  Production has fallen so much that it would take 569 years for PDVSA to tap half of its reserves.

Thanks to Venezuela’s embrace of socialism and Chavismo, PDVSA has probably destroyed more economic value than any institution in world history.

Socialism:  The Way It Was — And Never Should Be Again

Democrats have turned into progressives who are increasingly turning into full-blown state-sponsored Marxist socialists.  They’ve been taught this false promise in school.

Socialism destroys the individual work ethic, dispirits the human dimension, and kills innovation — always.  Under socialism, human productivity plummets and the state is faced with distributing fewer and fewer resources until the pie is too small to sustain the population, much less motivate it to achieve.

For Marxist socialism to succeed, Jesus Christ must be stricken from public belief and discourse. In all fully socialist states, Jesus Christ and God our Father are among the first enemies of the state and thus become brutalized victims of the state’s control apparatus.

Socialism requires the destruction of the nuclear family. Indeed, it sees the family as a competitor that must be terminated. After all, the state assumes responsibility for all citizens’ health and welfare

If you’re interested in a socialist United States, then be ready for a dismal and marginally productive work environment, a state cap on your ability to achieve, worshiping at the altar of the state instead of God, and having the state tell you explicitly how to raise, educate, and discipline your family and children.

Buy into socialism if you will, but you’ll condemn our next generations to a Venezuelan-like existence — guaranteed.

Senator Loeffler:  Black Lives Matter is Marxist-based

The Black Lives Matter political organization "is a very divisive organization based on Marxist principals.  This week they threatened to burn the system down, literally and figuratively if they don't get what they want.  This is an organization that looks to destroy American principals."

You’re Being Duped:  Black Lives Matter Founder Admits “We are Trained Marxists”

There’s Black Lives Matter the concept and Black Lives Matter the institution.  Most people who sign onto the BLM movement believe they are backing the concept, but it should be understood very clearly that the institution is reaping all the benefits.

Black Lives Matter has absolutely no concern for the well-being of black lives or equality in this country.  In fact, by their own admission, their purpose isn’t to heal this country, it’s to rip it apart and remake it into a more Marxist kind of society.

From a 2015 video of an interview with co-founder Patrisse Cullors:  "We actually do have an ideological frame.  Myself and Alicia [Garza] in particular, we’re trained organizers.  We are trained Marxists.  We are super versed on ideological theories."

Black Lives Matter the institution isn’t trying to hide their Marxism either.  In their "what we believe" section, they list their goals and all of them are extreme leftist stances concerned with destroying the very fabric of America in favor of the implementation of radical marxist ideals.

Marxism doesn’t have the interest of the people in mind.  It often uses people or causes as an avenue to dismantle and rebuild political systems.  Communism and socialism are not a solid system to replace anything with as they deteriorate and degrade everything, including the lives of the people. Socialism in all its variants – e.g., Communism, Socialism, Fascism – has claimed the lives of well over a hundred million people in its implementation in various countries.

"Black Lives Matter" Is Preying on America’s Belief That Black Lives Matter

Rest assured, Black Lives Matter (BLM) is a political party.

But the concept of black lives mattering has an institution attached to it that many Americans can’t get on board with.  Black Lives Matter the institution isn’t looking for equality, they’re looking for support and power for the Democratic party.  We know that because the official BLM donation page goes straight to ActBlue, which is tied directly to the Democratic party.

BLM the institution doesn’t seem to want to solve the problem.  They are, by their own admission, not interested in coming together with law enforcement bodies to solve the problem and will reject any attempts or events that do so.

Donations to Black Lives Matter Go to 'ActBlue' – The Activist Arm of the Democrat Party

ActBlue states that users can obtain the fundraising group’s "latest financial report" by emailing the company.  Yet when asked, the company would not provide that report.

The ActBlue website features a donation tracker which shows that since their establishment in 2004, the organization has raised over $5,247,111,000.

Act Blue's tag line:  "Powering Democratic candidates, committees, parties, organizations, and c4s around the country."

Fear, ignorance, panic, mob hysteria, propaganda, agitators, and hidden-agenda groups are the environment where the Leftists gain the most ground.  Marxist ideologies like Socialism, Fascism, and Communism do not work.  They destroy the incentives for productivity and hence prosperity; poverty is the inevitable result.  They are purely destructive, and their so-called proponents know it.  Being in power and in control as despotic tyrants is the ulterior motive and ultimate goal of Leftists.  Well-meaning but misguided and misled average people, mobs, dupes, stooges, and thugs are their tools.

TEACHER FAILS ENTIRE CLASS:

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that she had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class.  That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on this plan".  All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A....  (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.  The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.  As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.  When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

1.  You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2.  What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3.  The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4.  You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5.  When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

All people deserve a government that cares for their safety, their interests and their well-being, including their prosperity."

True story: A socialist I know left one job yesterday for another with higher pay. I accused him of being a capitalist. His response was to lament that it would mean he would have to pay higher taxes.

Excuse me? Lament? Which part of socialism does he not understand???

Socialism is about paying more taxes; about the belief that the government knows what to do with your money - and your life - better than you do. Socialism is about a government out of your control, spending the money it takes from you in taxes on things you may not agree your money should be spent on.

Freedom is about you being in control of your life and your money.

Socialism is about the government's control of you. Who cares if you like that or not?? In socialism, what you like or do not like is irrelevant. In socialism, you have no rights.

To all you socialists:
Do you really think you'll have a say in who makes the rules?
Freedom it's not.

Socialism kills - "Three meals a day is a luxury." - government running out of victims; a populace under Socialism now killing flamingos, armadillos, lizards to eat.

21 September 2016

See the ultimate end of a socialist government which has exhausted the riches of productive people to victimize, and is in its death-throes, in this article about Venezuela. If you were too young to witness the collapse of the Soviet Union, you can learn about the same inherent flaws of socialism - in real, live action - by watching and studying the collapse of Venezuela - a classic, textbook example.

Socialism only survives as long as it can steal existing wealth. It can create none of its own. Socialism is not productive. When it uses up its last victims, it is finished.

This is the inevitable end of socialism, any time, any place.

Socialism equals Dictatorship

Socialism is the government telling you what to do. "Democratic Socialism" is only a ploy to make you feel like you have some little bit of participation in what they tell you to do - and to spread the blame for who is responsible for the conditions you are forced to endure.

Why do so many Europeans wear that so typically familiar resigned, cynical, cowed expreesion? Why is their habitual, perennial, underlying attitude so different from that of Americans? Ask them sometime how the "democratic" part of their socialism is working out for them. Ask them about freedom. Where is it? Think about why so many still escape to the U.S. to live.

The EU is a case in point, as the recent news article linked here shows - what is happening there is not an isolated occurence, but an inherent, inevitable demonstration of what happens under socialism. What has occurred so far is only the beginning.

"Democratic" - i.e., the supposed participation of the population, is used to explain and justify the miniscule "some little bit" of ever-growing restrictions. But oppression is progressive, never-ending. The only way it can end is in bloodshed and rebellion.

Either format of socialism is founded on the destruction of freedom; the destruction of individula rights, and the destruction of your right to "ordain and establish" a true constitution, which is above the government and beyond its ability to alter. These are the things Socialist dictators - up to and including the EU Commission autocrats - fear the most.

When someone says the U.S. Constitution "is old, out-of-date, and makes it hard to govern", those limitations on government are what they mean. Those limitations were put there by deliberate intent when the Constitution was written, in full awareness that would-be dictators would be hobbled. The nature of tyranny was present and recognized then, just as it is now; it does not change. The rule of law - with nobody above the law - stops autocrats in their tracks. The EU and its autocratic Commission have a lot to learn about building good government.

The freedom of the United States, with its greatest achievement, its Constitution protecting that freedom, with its free citizens, who believe in that freedom, revel in it, stand proud and tall in it, refusing to bow to anyone, who are willing to defend it - that freedom, country, and Constitution all remain an ever-present, unapologetic, slap-in-the-face affront and threat to all dictators everywhere, from the EU on down, with the simple fact of its existence providing a lighthouse and a reminder to their victims that a better way of life exists beyond their country's borders - one which they never stop dreaming of reaching, or emulating, if they could.

No wonder socialists work so hard to undermine America, corrupt the education of its younger generations, spend fortunes trying to influence its worst elements, shake its core, subvert and erode its structure.

There is always some "higher order", or "greater good" (but for who?), touted as a justification for socialism, as an attempt to convince the unwary and unknowing voters that their oppression is justified and somehow worth it. Democratic socialism is a dictatorship by thugs, hidden behind a facade (the votes of the majority) to which the dictator can point to as his justification - someone else on whom he can lay the blame.

Socialism and democratic socialism are both statements that you are not fit to self-govern, and that someone else is, and needs to do it for you. The ages of Kings and Commissars are not gone, but just wearing new, more fashionable clothes. The socialism that ignited Europe's horrendous battles of World War II is not gone. It still dominates European politics and life. It is less violent, but still oppressive, still in control, still destructive, still there. The con remains the same.

Socialism always and inevitably grows progressively more oppressive over time. There is no justification for it to be otherwise.

Socialism does have one distinction: in the 20th century, more than 120 million people were murdered in the name of socialism. No other scourge that has touched humanity comes close to that level of destruction. That's an all-time, very poignant, and indicative record.

Socialists can be grouped as being in one of three distinct categories: the killers and dictators, their willing gang of enforcers and thugs, and their unwitting idealistic-fantasy dupes. Everyone else is a victim - and a subject, living without freedom.

For everybody, socialism is the opposite of freedom.
